On the Brink of Perfection, Interview with Arwen Elys Dayton
"Perfection has a way of getting ugly.” That statement ends the jacket blurb for
Stronger, Faster, and More Beautiful, sucking us right into Arwen Elys Dayton’s latest release. The author of the Seeker series and Resurrection is back, with a rapid-paced, YA sci-fi novel that explores the lengths we’re willing go in the name of self-improvement. Told in six related stories, Dayton leads us farther and farther into a future where science has the ability to transform us and redefine what it means to be human.
“This book can be thought of as an anthology because it’s got these sections, but they tell one complete story—there’s one character that acts as a throughline and ties them together,” Dayton explained. Structuring her novel like this let her grapple with the different aspects of a complicated subject: human genetic modification.
